How Does PickCup Protect Players?
The new Pitchfix PickCup was developed in response to the recent rule change allowing golfers to leave the flag in the hole while putting. This was intended to speed up play but has led to unexpected damage to the hole edge, as many golfers do not remove the flag when retrieving their ball.
By default, the PickCup sits at the bottom of the hole, but thanks to its height adjustability, you can create shallow holes to prevent contact with the flagstick.
The product development team at PITCHFIX quickly recognized that with appropriate adaptation, the PickCup could help golfers around the world continue to safely enjoy their favorite sport. This idea was quickly adopted by many clubs worldwide.
PickCup significantly minimizes the risk of contact. It also lowers maintenance costs by protecting hole edges. Additionally, it provides considerable relief for golfers with back problems, as they now need to bend down less.
The PickCup has already been approved by the R&A.
