The Used Market Is Attractive – If You Know What Matters
A used golf cart is the most economical way into electric mobility on the course, hotel grounds or company premises. To make sure the bargain doesn't turn into a repair case, check these six points before buying:
1. The Battery – the Most Expensive Component
Ask about battery type (lead-acid or lithium), age and charge cycles. A battery set is the largest single item on a used cart. Tip: older lead-acid carts can be converted to modern lithium technology in our workshop – lighter, maintenance-free and longer-lasting.
2. Tyres, Brakes, Steering
Unevenly worn tyres point to chassis problems. Brakes and steering must respond noticeably directly – a test drive is part of every serious purchase.
3. Body and Frame
Superficial scratches are normal; rust or cracks on the frame are a deal-breaker. Also check seats, roof and windscreen.
4. Service History
A cart from professional fleet maintenance – for example from a golf facility with regular servicing – is usually a better choice than a vehicle of unknown origin.
5. Spare Parts Supply
For brands like E-Z-GO, Cushman and Club Car, original spare parts remain available long-term. With exotic brands, every repair can become a search.
6. Dealer or Private Purchase?
On marketplaces you buy what you see – no inspection, no warranty, no service. From a specialist dealer you get inspected vehicles, a transparent history, workshop service and someone to call if anything comes up. The used golf carts at Golf Tech (from € 4,100 excl. VAT) are professionally serviced before sale and ready for immediate use – with delivery across Austria and Germany from our warehouses in Vienna, Klagenfurt and Münster.
